IAN H. TARAS M.D.

TLC: A Tradition of Listening & Caring! That’s not just a phrase, but a motto. Every patient in front of me is treated like I would my wife, sister, mother or daughter. By the way, I love all those people so that’s a good thing! Dr. Edward Taras, my Father, started this practice in 1968 & we’ve been in the same place, ever since. He’s since passed away, but I came on board in 1996.

Gynecology – Hormones One pill does not fit all is my motto. You’re not a computer so why should there be only one solution? I’ve done my research and beleive in both traditional HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) and BioIdentical (Natural) HRT. Most docs will give you a choice of one or the other, but if there are 31 different flavors of ice cream, why can’t there be 31 ways to do hormones? Customized to YOU! I’ve been prescribing B-HRT since 1996 so am not a “Johnnie-come-lately.” Shouldn’t hormones be prescribed by a gynecologist? Put aside all those Google searches and come on over!

As of July 1st, 2006, I dropped doing baby deliveries to focus on, amongst other things, menopausal management of hormones and technological advancements in minimally invasive surgeries. Before I retired from obstetrics I was the youngest Chairman of the Department of Ob/Gyn that West Hills Hospital had ever had.  No more waiting room anticipating when your Ob/Gyn will return from the hospital because of a delivery.

Studies have shown that most women age 16 – 65 want to use just one doctor for most of their medical needs and that physician is their Ob/Gyn.  In 2014 we went OON (out of network) because insurances were coercing doctors to see patients every 8 minutes! Now we can see you in 5 minutes or 55 minutes or whatever you need, we’re here for you! Of course I’m available for routine Pap smears, infection checks and abnormal bleeding, but even cough/colds can be handled through our office.  “One stop shopping” is what we offer, and if I can’t figure it out, we’ll refer you to someone who can.

Kelli
Kelli Accounts Manager
I’m Kelli, the behind the scenes person for Dr. Taras. I help navigate the very confusing process of insurance to best utilize your OON (out of network) benefits. I schedule and coordinate surgeries along with obtaining authorizations for specialty procedures and injectable medications.
I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions or problems regarding insurance or billing.
While not with my office family, you can bet I am with at least one or two of my FIVE grandsons!  They are my reason to stay healthy and active.
